About The Schoolmaster

Thanks for taking the time to visit and learn about The Schoolmaster. First conceptualized in the spring of 2006, The Schoolmaster has finally become a reality. To give you a better understanding of what The Schoolmaster is all about, please take a few minutes to read the vision and mission statements, and the statement of faith.

Vision
Although starting out small, the vision of The Schoolmaster is to take the message of God's Word globally in a way that increases understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and expands and broadens the horizons of anyone who visits the site.

Mission
The mission of The Schoolmaster is to serve as a resource for those looking to:

• learn more about God and His Word
• learn how to share their faith with others
• bring people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ

Statement of Faith
The beliefs of The Schoolmaster are as follows:

The Bible
Completely and unequivocally the inerrant, infalliable, authorative, living, and inspired Word of God ... 2 Tim 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21, Heb 4:12.

God and The Trinity
There is only one God, eternally existing in three persons, the same in substance but distinct in subsistence; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit ... Gen 1:1, Gen 1:26, Deut 6:4, Isaiah 6:8, Matt 28:19, John 10:30.

Jesus Christ
Born of a virgin, Jesus Christ was God manifest in the flesh, walked and lived a sinless life on this earth, performed miracles, died an atoning death for all mankind, rose from the dead and is today sitting at the right hand throne of the Father, and will return to earth in all power and glory ... John 10:33, Isaiah 7:14, Matt 1:23, Luke 1:34-35, Heb 4:15, Heb 7:26, 1 Cor 15:3-4, Eph 1:7, Heb 2:9, John 11:25, Mark 16:19, Acts 1:11, Rev 19:11-16.

Salvation
Because of the total depravity and sinfulness of the human nature, salvation through regeneration by the Holy Spirit is an absolute necessity, and that all are justified solely on the basis of faith in the shed blood of Christ, and only by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone are we saved ... John 3:16-19, John 5:24, Rom 3:23, Rom 5:8-9, Eph 2:8-10, Titus 3:5.

Resurrection
Each person will be resurrected, the saved (those who have placed their faith in Jesus) will be resurrected to eternal life, and the unsaved (those who have not placed their faith in Jesus) will be resurrected to eternal damnation ... John 5:28-29.

The Holy Spirit
The present day ministry of the Holy Spirit is in convicting the world of its sin, and by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life ... John 16:8-11, Rom 8:13-14, 1 Cor 3:16, 1 Cor 6:19-20, Eph 4:30.

The Schoolmaster Name
In the event you're curious about the name, The Schoolmaster, well, A school is a place of learning and a master is one who leads, guides, or teaches. There happens to be a verse in Psalm that reads ... Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; for You I wait all the day ... Psalm 25:5. As well, according to God's Word, the law (10 commandments) serves as His schoolmaster in bringing people to faith in Jesus Christ ... Gal. 3:23-25, KJV.

Combining both of these definitions, The Schoolmaster seemed like a fine name, not to mention that when asking for God's help in choosing a name for the site, The Schoolmaster was the answer provided ... well before understanding why!
